Como a energia solar é gerada?

A geração de energia solar se inicia com a instalação de painéis solares no telhado de casas e edifícios. Quando a luz do Sol bate nesses painéis a energia é gerada, em corrente contínua.

A partir de então, toda a carga produzida passa por um inversor solar, responsável por transformar a corrente contínua em corrente alternada, equalizando com a frequência do estabelecimento. Assim, a energia gerada se iguala à energia da rede elétrica.

Esta passa a ser utilizada em todo o ambiente, por tudo que esteja conectado nas tomadas, além das luzes. Obviamente, se não houver geração suficiente de energia, o estabelecimento passa a utilizar a que é fornecida pela Distribuidora (essa alternância de fontes não é percebida pelos usuários).

Em contrapartida, se a geração de carga for superior ao consumo, a rede da Distribuidora receberá a sua e o usuário terá um “crédito de energia” como forma de compensação (que normalmente tem 60 meses de validade e será usado automaticamente quando o estabelecimento gerar menos do que está consumindo).

Como é a geração de energia com o tempo nublado?

É válido ressaltar que os painéis fotovoltaicos funcionam com a incidência de luz e não de calor. Dessa forma, qualquer raio de luz gera energia, por mais fraco que ele seja. A partir disso, pode-se afirmar que há sim geração de energia solar em dias nublados, mas em menor quantidade.

Quando temos um dia ensolarado, a produção de carga aumenta consideravelmente. Já quando o dia é nublado, os painéis diminuem a produção, mas continuam trabalhando (porque os raios solares chegam até as placas de forma difusa e não direta).

E como é a geração em períodos chuvosos?

A chuva pode ser vista como uma grande aliada dos painéis, por conta da limpeza que ela proporciona nesses objetos. Contudo, ela também deve ser vista como uma vilã, por afetar diretamente o desempenho dos painéis. A chuva, em si, não atrapalha, mas a diminuição da irradiação e a nebulosidade que a acompanham são cruciais para menor geração de energia.

O inverno interfere na produção?

Sim. A duração do dia no inverno é menor, ou seja, o período em que a luz solar está presente diminui, assim como a geração de energia solar. Portanto, podemos dizer que o melhor momento de produção desse tipo de energia no Brasil é entre os meses de dezembro a março, por conta do clima do verão.

Obviamente, quanto mais próximo à Linha do Equador menor será a variação na geração ao longo do ano (devido à inclinação do eixo da Terra).

E as altas temperaturas?

Você deve estar pensando: “em dias de muito calor a geração de energia solar deve ser muito maior”. Ledo engano. Ao contrário do que muitos acreditam, a “quantidade” de calor não favorece a produção.

Ela está relacionada com a luz do Sol. É interessante destacar que as placas apresentam melhor funcionamento em temperaturas mais amenas. Sendo assim, é fundamental que os equipamentos instalados não absorvam muito calor.

A geração de energia solar está se tornando cada vez mais comum. Novas construções já estão utilizando esse tipo de sistema que, além de reduzir custos de energia, é sustentável e protege o meio ambiente. Vale o investimento, não é mesmo?
